Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective (Col 3: 1-2 MSG).
When I become full of myself, I’ve enlisted the help of a step ladder to address my pride.
I grab my kitchen step stool, armed with cloth and Pledge cleaner, and climb my way to the top of the ladder. From a ceiling’s vantage point, I’m stunned to find five fan blades housing what looks to be a dust collection. I spray lemony cleaner over the grayish residue and begin wiping each blade and lightbulb. Depending on how long it’s been since I’ve visited the ceiling, sometimes I must return to floor level to rinse or replace my cloth.
As I hike up the ladder, I visualize how my attitude gets an aerial view of how small I can be. My motives require regular cleanings. Sometimes my spirit has dulled, and I need several applications of soul spray to polish my character. I look toward heaven and ask God to circulate His breath around my thoughts and heart.
Thank you, Jesus for pledging Your cleansing blood on the cross. Help me practice floor-to-ceiling humility like You did.
From a FROG fan on the lily pad of life,
Christina
